BJP MP Gopal Chinayya Shetty on Thursday pitched for encouraging public private partnership (PPP) model to boost the country's progress.

Participating in the debate in Lok Sabha on demand for grants for Railways, Shetty said that the "PPP model is the only solution and would lead the country to progress. It can only provide facilities to the people"

The model, he said, would also help in development of multi-storeyed railway stations adding that the "railways would also get money".

A lot of work was being undertaken for the development of railways, Sudhir Gupta (BJP) said, adding work was progressing at a fast pace in the Northeast

Ranjanben Dhananjay Bhatt (BJP) made a plea to the government to run a train from Vadodara to Amritsar and from Vadodara to Haridwar.

She also invited the members of opposition to the Aadarsh Bus Station---constructed on PPP model---and stated that the facilities at the Bus Station were no less than those at an airport.
