Prachanda inducts 2 new ministers in Cabinet

Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda today inducted two new ministers in his Cabinet, a move seen here as an attempt to consolidate his position.

President Vidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Prem Bahadur Singh and Kumar Khadka at a special function at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas.

Singh has been sworn in as the Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation while Khadka as the Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare.

With induction of Singh and Khadka, the total number of members of the Council of Ministers reached 43.

Singh is from the Samajwadi Janata Dal and Khadka from Akhanda Nepal.
