Pradhyuman Singh appointed as pro-tem Speaker of Raj Assembly

Senior Congress MLA Pradhyuman Singh has been appointed as pro-tem speaker of the 14th Rajasthan Assembly which will have its first session from January 21.

Singh will administer oath to the newly elected MLAs.

Three other MLAs -- Sunder Lal, Ghanshyam Tiwari and Narayan Singh -- have also been appointed to assist Singh, according to a state government release here.

An eight-time Congress legislator Singh, who represents Rajakhera constituency, will be the pro-tem Speaker till the appointment of a full-time Speaker of the 200-member House.

In the recently held elections, BJP emerged victorious by winning 163 seats whereas the Congress could win on only 21 seats.
