A local court today rejected the anticipatory bail applications of four persons and granted bail to another person who has been named as an accused in the case related to murder of Amrut Prajapati, former aide of godman Asaram.

In his dying declaration, Prajapati, an ayurveda doctor, had given names of six persons who were present when he was shot at in Rajkot on May 23 inside his dispensary on Pedak road.

"Five persons had filed anticipatory bail applications in the additional sessions court on June 9 to avoid possible arrest," said Assistant Public Prosecutor Dilip Mehta.

Additional Sessions judge B S Upadhyay, however, rejected the bail pleas of Meghji Patel, Ajay Shah, K D Patel and Ramchandra Thakkar while granting (anticipatory) bail to Vikas Khemka, Mehta said.
