Jha, who is returning to the festival for the second time, says he is honoured to present his film after a gap of fifteen years. His film 'Mrityudand' had opened the festival in 1997.
"I feel honoured because London Film Festival is a global platform and Bollywood films are rarely screened there. It's my second chance as my 'Mrityudand' was invited for the gala premiere 15 years ago," Jha told PTI.
"The selection team had visited India and watched many Bollywood films along with 'Chakravyuh'. Then they mailed me saying that they wanted to do the gala with my film only," he said.
Jha is now going to postpone the release of the film by a week because the festival begins on October 10. The movie will now release on October 12.
"I have no issues with changing the release date. It's a big honour for our Hindi film industry," he added.
'Chakravyuh', starring Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol, Manoj Bajpayee, Kabir Bedi and Esha Gupta, is based on the naxal issue.
The festival takes place from October 10 to 21.
