Pranab to visit model polling booth in President Estate

President Pranab Mukherjee will visit a model polling booth in a school inside the President's Estate before voting starts in the Delhi Assembly elections tomorrow.

The booth set up at Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya will also have some additional facilities.

Sources, however, said Mukherjee will not vote in the elections. He also did not vote in the Lok Sabha elections held last year.

"This Model Polling Booth has the following additional facilities apart from the basic minimum facilities: a display board conveying the name of location, polling station number, assembly constituency, district, ECI symbol, national emblem and Delhi logo, emergency light for power back up...
 

"Stickers with logos of ECI on three sides of the voting compartment, furniture for polling personnel as well as in the waiting lounge, drinking water, queue manager in steel with nylon separator, first aid facility, volunteers for assisting disabled persons and senior citizens, decoration of polling station," press secretary to the President, Venu Rajamony said in a statement.
