Indian-American singer Anuradha Palakurthi Juju, guitar whiz Prasanna and their 10-piece international band will embark on a "Bollywood Reloaded" tour across the US.
The concert tour will kickstart from here on August 25, followed by performances in Boston, Atlanta and other major American cities, Juju Productions, LLC, a Boston-based music and video production company, said in a statement.
Prasanna and Anuradha will perform a number of Bollywood songs that they have infused with a "new world urgency of live music sound".
"I have specially re-arranged golden songs by Illayaraja, RD Burman, Madan Mohan, AR Rahman, Shankar Jaikishan, Vishal Shekar and other Indian composers with the amazing and versatile Anuradha Palakurthi Juju on vocals and a new world fusion sound with my world class band, we can't wait to lift your spirits with music that we will all take back home with joy and pride," Prasanna, who has played in different genres like Carnatic music, rock, metal, jazz, reggae and funk, said.
The band features members from countries like Bulgaria, Suriname, Israel, USA, Colombia and Switzerland.
The band said they hope to create a one world experience by taking the unifying spirit of Bollywood music and blend it with everything from Brazilian Samba and Classic Rock stylings, Carnatic music and Gypsy Folk Styles, Raw Funk and African dance styles, Heavy Metal and Ghazal-like sensibilities.
Anuradha, who has done playback both in Bollywood as well as down south, said, "Music knows no boundaries. In this event, audiences will be transported musically across the globe ensconced in popular Hindi, Tamil and Telugu tunes. I am excited to present the show with Prasanna - one of the most creative geniuses of our times.
