The opposition leader in the Yavatmal Zilla Parishad Pratap Rathod passed away last night at a private hospital in Mumbai.
Last rites were conducted at his native village Brahmanwada in Arni tehsil today.
Rathod (66) died following kideny failure.
He was with Janta Dal earlier, and had joined Congress recently.
NCP leader and state minister Manohar Naik, Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe, Deputy Speaker of State Assembly Vasant Purke, Shiv Sena MLA of Digras Sanjay Rathod, ZP President Pravind Deshmukh, former MP Haribhau Rathod were among those present at the funeral.
