Pratyush Kumar named AmCham India Chairman

Boeing India President Pratyush Kumar has been appointed as the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in India.

"My goal will be to steer the chamber towards strengthening the US industry engagement in focus areas of the Government of India such as manufacturing, digital connectivity, smart cities, infrastructure building, skill development, entrepreneurship, and innovation," Kumar said.

US Ambassador to India Richard Verma is the honorary President of the chamber.

Richard Rekhy, CEO, KPMG in India and Gulshan Kumar Sachdev, Managing Director, Quaker Chemical India Limited, were elected as the Vice-Chairmen of the chamber at its Annual General Meeting held last week.
 

Before joining Boeing in 2012, Kumar served in various leadership roles at General Electric for close to a decade in the US and in India. He started his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in the US.

Kumar earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a doctorate in Materials Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

American Chamber of Commerce in India (AmCham) is the association of US companies operating in India.
