Praveen Kumar Tripathi is the new DC, South Division

In a minor reshuffle in the police department, the West Bengal government today transferred five IPS officers.

According to a notification issued by the government, IPS Praveen Kumar Tripathi, SP Hooghly, was made DC South division of Kolkata Police and Sukhesh Kumar Jain, who was SP Howrah (Rural), replaced him.

DC South Division of Kolkata Police Murli Dhar was made the DC of Special Task Force of Kolkata Force, while SS CID Sabya Sachi Raman was made SP Howrah (Rural), the notification stated.

Nilanjan Biswas, who was DC, STF of Kolkata Police was made DC, KAP 3rd Battalion of the Force, which was lying vacant, the notification added.
