Gold and silver continued to fall for the fourth straight day at the bullion market here today on the back of lower global cues.

Standard gold (99.5 purity) moved down by another Rs 80 per 10 grams to Rs 30,020 from Rs 30,100 yesterday.

Pure gold (99.9 purity) also fell by a similar margin to end at Rs 30,170 per 10 grams from Rs 30,250.

Silver (.999 fineness) moved down by Rs 20 per kg to close at Rs 43,185 from 43,205 yesterday.

Gold futures settled lower yesterday in the global market, extending their losses into a fourth-straight session as a better-than-expected reading on the US services sector helped dull the metal's investment appeal.

December gold fell USD 1.10 or 0.1 per cent, to close at USD 1,268.60 an ounce. Prices held ground at their lowest settlement since June 23 -- the date of the UK's Brexit vote.

December silver fell by 8 cents or 0.5 per cent, to USD 17.695 an ounce.
