A pregnant woman died here after the ambulance in which she was being taken to the hospital for delivery collided with a speeding car, police said today.
Three others, including a nurse, sustained injuries in the collision which occurred last evening, they said.
The woman, Sudesh, complaint of labour pain after which she was being taken to the hospital for delivery when the ambulance collided with the speeding car on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway near Rampur Tiraha here, police said.
The pregnant woman and the injured were rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her and the foetus dead, they said.
The body has been sent for postmortem and the accused car driver arrested, police said.
