Pregnant woman gangraped by robbers, 3 held

A six-month pregnant woman was allegedly gangraped by robbers, who looted valuables from several houses in Khedula Pati village in Parbhani district today, police said.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim, police have arrested three of the four accused, an officer, who is part of the investigation, said.

The robbers struck Khedula Pati village on Pathri-Selu road early in the morning and allegedly attacked three villagers before decamping with ornaments from several houses, he said.

They then forcibly took the woman to the bushes and allegedly raped her in turns, he said.

The woman and the other injured have been admitted to Parbhani civil hospital.
 

A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered at the Pathri police station, the officer added.
