Indian long jumper Kumaravel Prem Kumar produced a brilliant performance to win a bronze medal with a jump of 8.04m during the 57th edition of America's popular Mt. San Antonio College relays at Walnut, California today.
The 21-year-old national record holder achieved the mark in his first jump at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium. This was his fourth legal jump of over 8 metres in his career. He holds the national record of 8.09m.
The gold in this event went to local lad Jeff Henderson who produced a stupendous 8.50m jump while Japan's Yohei Sugai pocketed the silver medal in 8.18m.
