The new facility will cater to passengers who arrive at the Ajmeri Gate side of the station.

The booth, which is a joint collaboration of Delhi Traffic Police and Northern Railways, was inaugurated by Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla and DRM Northern Railways A K Sachan.

"This prepaid booth is well located and shall provide easy access to railway passengers who arrive on Ajmeri Gate side of the New Delhi Railway Station. Northern Railway has provided excellent bays/lanes for VIP and emergency vehicles, taxis, TSR vehicles," said Anita Roy, DCP (Traffic), Central Range.

"This facility shall be replicated in Nizamuddin Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station and Sarai Rohilla Railway Station in near future," she said.

Prepaid chart has been displayed at the booth. Three computer terminals will issue prepaid slip in quick time and will help coping up with passenger load at the railway station, Roy said.
