The blueprint for the Film and Television Institute in Arunachal Pradesh is under preparation with site selection at Jollang (Jote) near here covering an area of 50 acres.

Residents of the area who donated land have been carrying out jungle clearing works in the area to facilitate early preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for establishment of the institute.

IPR Parliamentary Secretary Bamang Felix, who was monitoring the progress of the activities in relation to early establishment of the institute, visited the site today, an official release said.

Felix expressed satisfaction over the active cooperation of locals who have, besides donating the land for free, cleared the entire 50 acres voluntarily.

He exhorted the people to extend support to the early establishment of the institute and said the central institution would not only open scope for development in the region, but would also boost employment and economic activities in the area.

Boundary pillars on the site have been erected, while the contour map was being prepared.

Despite stiff competition from other North-East states for establishment of the institute, the Centre had decided to establish the facility in the state, the release added.
