The Presidency University authorities Tuesday announced that its students can collect their degree certificates from departments between Wednesday and September 28.

The students were not able to collect certificates at the 6th Convocation of the institute on September 11 as it was shifted from the campus to a state-run auditorium in the wake of an agitation by a section of the students over hostel accommodation.

Only honorary degrees were awarded to two dignitaries and no student was present in the Convocation.

In a notice, the Presidency University authorities Tuesday said, "This is to notify that the BA/B Sc, MA/MSc and PhD Degree certification for the year 2018 will be distributed from the respective department on and from September 19, 2018 till September 28, 2018."

The notice said after September 28, the certificate will be available from the office of the Controller of Examinations on and from October 9.

Altogether 750 students were supposed to receive the certificates at the sixth Convocation, which was originally slated to be held in the Presidency campus but it had to be shifted to the auditorium at the eleventh hour.

A university official said Vice-Chancellor Anuradha Lohia discussed the issue of handing over the certificates with the Governor who is the Chancellor of the university two days back.
