Presidency University Vice-chancellor Anuradha Lohia today met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss issues related to its upcoming second campus.

"Presidency is completing 200 years of existence in 2017 and we are planning a big celebration. I discussed issues relating to that with the chief minister besides work on our second campus in Rajarhat," Lohia told PTI after the meeting at the state secretariat.

She said the chief minister has asked her to give a detailed report to the government on the plans for 200 years celebration and the new campus.

According to a plan proposed by the Presidency Mentor Group, the entire construction will take 10 years at a cost Rs 468 crore.

Funds are the biggest issue for the cash strapped state varsity.

"We will submit our funding requirements to the finance ministry soon. But we are also tapping funds from various sources including alumni and corporates," the VC said.
