The Chief Minister had called on the President at Rashtrpati Bhavan yesterday and invited him to visit the state.
The President accepted the invitation saying that he will visit the state at his convenience, official sources said.
Sarkar also took up the matter of connectivity with Bangladesh during his meeting with Mukherjee.
The President said he will do whatever he can for improving connectivity with the neighbouring country.
