President condoles death of Daggubati Ramanaidu

President Pranab Mukherjee today condoled the death of acclaimed Telugu film producer Daggubati Ramanaidu saying in his demise, the film industry has lost a creative personality who left an indelible mark on the Indian cinema.

In a condolence message to his wife, Rajeswari, the President has said, "I am saddened to learn about the passing away of Shri Daggubati Ramanaidu."

"Shri Ramanaidu was a Parliamentarian and acclaimed film producer. His contribution to the Indian film industry, especially Telugu cinema was recognised by the nation through the Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2012," the President said.
 

He said in his death, the film industry has lost a creative personality who left an indelible mark on the Indian cinema.

"I pray to the Almighty to give your family and you the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to all members of your family," the President said in the message.

Ramanaidu, who made memorable films like 'Ramudu- Bheemudu', 'Srikrishna Tulabharam' and 'Premnagar', breathed his last in Hyderabad yesterday at the age of 78.
