President extends greetings to Singapore on National day

President Pranab Mukherjee today extended his greetings to the Government and people of Singapore on the eve of their National Day saying the close friendship between two nations will be elevated to an even higher level in the coming years.

In a message to Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam, Mukherjee said, "On behalf of the Government and the people of India, it gives me great pleasure to convey to you, the Government and the people of Singapore our warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day."

He said Singapore and India enjoy a deep and enduring relationship.
 

"Our cooperation extends beyond our multifaceted bilateral cooperation and growing people-to-people linkages to include active collaboration in various regional fora," the President said.

He expressed confidence that the close friendship between the two nations will be elevated to an even higher level in the coming years.
