President greets people on eve of Milad-un-Nabi

President Pranab Mukherjee today greeted people on the eve of Milad-un-Nabi and asked them to follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammed and rededicate themselves for the well-being of humanity.

In his message, Mukherjee said, "On the auspicious occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of the Holy Prophet, I convey my greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens in India and abroad."

He expressed the hope that the message of selflessness and brotherhood preached by the Prophet inspires to promote unity and friendship.

"May the eternally relevant teachings of the Prophet inspire us to re-dedicate ourselves for the well-being of humanity," he said.
