President Ram Nath Kovind arrived here on Friday on a three-day visit to Bolivia, the first high-level visit to the Latin American country since the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Kovind was welcomed by Bolivian President Evo Morales along with other dignitaries as he arrived at the Viru Viru International airport here and also received the Guard of Honour, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a tweet.

Kovind will hold restricted and delegation-level talks with Bolivian President Morales during the visit.

He will also participate in an India-Bolivia business meet, address university students, and interact with Indian community members during his stay in the country.

On March 30, he will head to Chile where he will hold talks with the restricted and delegation-level format with Chilean counterpart Sebastin Piera.

The president is on a three-nation tour to strengthen ties in key sectors such as trade, investment and renewable energy.

He was in Croatia from March 25-28.
