President on two-day visit to Uttarakhand from September 23

President Ramnath Kovind will be in Uttarakhand for two days from September 23, during which he will worship the Ganga river in Haridwar and pay obeisance at the shrines in Badrinath and Kedarnath.

He will be received at the Jollygrant airport in the afternoon by Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Chief Secretary S Ramswamy and DGP Anil Raturi, official sources here said.

The Central Command of the Army will give him a guard of honour, they said.

From the airport, the president would go to Har Ki Pauri along the Ganga river in Haridwar. After worshipping the river, he will visit the Seva Kunj Ashram.
 

Kovind will return to Dehradun the same evening where the governor will host a banquet in his honour at the Raj Bhawan.

The next morning, the president will participate in a tree plantation programme and then he will leave for Kedarnath and Badrinath.

He will return to Delhi that day after paying obeisance at the famed Himalayan shrines.

The chief secretary held a meeting here to review the preparations and has asked the departments concerned to make fool-proof arrangements in view of the president's visit.
