President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Shimla from June 20 to 22 and spend a few days at the quiet Retreat here surrounded by thick pine forests.

As per the tentative programme received here by Himachal Pradesh government, Mukherjee would arrive at Kalyani helipad near Wild flower Hall, 14km from here, and stay at the "Retreat" for three days.

He would arrive on June 20 and leave for Delhi on June 22, official sources said.

Chief Secretary P.Mitra today held a meeting with concerned officials to finalise the arrangements for the Presidential visit.

This would be the second visit of Mukherjee to Shimla as President. He had earlier visited Shimla in May, 2013, in connection with golden jubilee celebrations of Himachal assembly.

"Retreat" was made part Presidential estate after the Viceregal Lodge near the Summer Hill was handed over to the Education department for opening Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.
