President Pranab Mukherjee would address the convocation ceremony of a medical college here tomorrow, college authorities said today.
Mukherjee has been invited to be the chief guest for the fourth convocation ceremony of Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Medical College here.
"President Mukherjee will be the chief guest at the college's fourth convocation ceremony," a statement by the college's principal Navneet Kumar said.
The president is scheduled to first visit Lucknow and from there he will reach Kanpur by a chopper. A special helipad has been arranged at the college campus.
Security arrangements have been made accordingly with the Air Force, District Administration, Police Administration, Special Protection Group, and Medical College Administration working in tandem, Kumar said.
UP Governor B L Joshi has consented to be part of the function while the Chief Minister will be represented by two of his cabinet members, who will host the Governor.
