Presidential poll: Amarinder calls meeting of MLAs on Monday

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, has called a meeting of the state Congress legislative party (CLP) members here on July 17, ahead of the polling for the presidential elections.

Singh, who is also the CLP leader, has convened the meeting at 9 AM on Monday, a party release said here today.

After the meeting, the party MLAs, led by Amarinder, will go to the Assembly to cast their votes in the presidential election.

Opposition has fielded Meira Kumar as their presidential candidate against Ram Nath Kovind of the NDA.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief whip Hardyal Singh Kamboj has sent out a request for all members to attend the meeting.
