Union Minister Manoj Sinha today said adequate development of railways could not take place in eastern Uttar Pradesh due to negligence by previous governments.

The Minister of State for Railways said this while inaugurating waiting halls at Sidhuana Rampur halt station and Aurihar.

He said this sector would not be ignored under the Modi government and he was making efforts for adequate and planned development of railways in east UP.

Sinha said keeping in view problems being faced by passengers, a second railway overbridge (ROB) would be constructed at Aurihar junction soon.

Moreover, Sinha said there is an element of low

reciprocity from certain economies when it comes to laws related to taxation or anti-money laundering.

Further, he said every country is entitled to policy change. However, it was important not to have norms which have a retrospective effect.

"Foreign investors need assurances that there should not be change in policy with retrospective implementation," Sinha said.
