Prez, Bengal Guv to attend special Vivekananda function

Addressing a press conference at Ramakrishna Math and Mission headquarters at Belur, assistant general secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Swami Subirananda said the function will be held at the ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda at Shimla street in Kolkata.

The President, the West Bengal Governor, Prasar Bharati CEO Jawahar Sircar and other dignitaries will attend the function on January 18 at Vivekananda's ancestral house, he said.

Another function to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda which was supposed to be held on January 20 at Netaji Indoor stadium in Kolkata has been shifted to the Ramakrishna Math and Mission headquarters at Belur, Swami Subirananda said.

 

The January 20 function would be attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and the president of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, he said.
