President Pranab Mukherjee today greeted the people of Turkey on the eve of their National Day and expressed hope that relations between the two countries will further diversify and deepen in future.
In his message to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President extended greeting to him on behalf of his Government and the people and said, "It is a matter of satisfaction that the deep-rooted relations between our two countries continue to be marked by friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation.
"I am confident that our bilateral relations will further diversify and deepen with the passage of time to the mutual benefit of the people of our two countries," he said.
Turkey became a Republic on October 29, 1923 and since than the country celebrates the day as National Day or Republic day.
