President Pranab Mukherjee will go on a one-day visit to Punjab on May 2.
He will be the Chief Guest at the 8th Convocation of Lovely Professional University (LPU), Chaheru, in Phagwara Sub-division of Kapurthala district, an official spokesman said today.
Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnor will preside over the function, he said.
It will be the President's second visit to the LPU. He had visited the varsity in 2013, also in connection with its convocation.
A university release said the President will give gold medals to 38 students while 15,988 regular and distance learning students drawn from different parts of the country as well as 50 other countries will get degrees, diplomas and certificates.
