Prez speech, a mere repetition of Modi's statements: JD(U)

Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav today said that there was "nothing new" in the Presidential address as it was a "mere repetition" of the Prime Minister's earlier statements.

Yadav also termed the address as extremely long and claimed that it made many in the House feel drowsy.

"There was nothing new. Whatever said earlier by the Prime Minister, it was repeated in the Presidential speech. The speech was very long and people were feeling sleepy," Yadav said after President Pranab Mukherjee's customary address to the joint session of Parliament.

Asked as to who all were sleeping during the speech, he said, "I will not name anyone but they said they were feeling sleepy during the speech."
 

About the speech mentioning "sabka saath sabka vikash", the JD(U) chief said, "It is not showing anywhere. The government seems to be in festive mood.
