President Pranab Mukherjee will release a specially-designed commemorative postage stamp on the centenary anniversary of Delhi Gymkhana Club tomorrow.
The club, which was established as Imperial Delhi Gymkhana Club on July 3, 1913 and renamed as Delhi Gymkhana Club in 1947, will hold a function to celebrate the 100th year of its establishment with the President being the Chief Guest of the function.
Notable historical events that occurred in the precincts of the Imperial Delhi Gymkhana Club in the pre-independence era include the landmark meeting between Mahatma Gandhi and Lord Irwin leading to the Gandhi-Irwin Pact.
Among its elite members are distinguished and prominent civil servants and military officials.
