Prez, VP, PM greet people on 'Navroz'

The President, the Vice President and the Prime Minister today greeted people on the occasion of 'Navroz', the Parsi New year, that falls tomorrow and hoped it unites the nation.

President Pranab Mukherjee in his message on the occasion hoped the New Year brings happiness, prosperity and fulfillment to all sections of people and "instill pride in the glorious diversity of our plural nation".

"On the joyous occasion of 'Navroz', I convey greetings and best wishes to all my Parsi fellow citizens," he said, adding the Parsi community has contributed immensely to the development of our nation through their hard work, diligence and perseverance.
 

"May this year's festivities be a celebration of our multi-cultural and multi-religious society," he said.

Vice President Hamid Ansari also extended his best wishes to all citizens on the joyous occasion of 'Navroz'.

In his message, he said Navroz is celebrated with gaiety and fervor throughout the country and is a manifestation of its rich and vibrant composite culture and symbolizes the unity of the people.

"I extend my best wishes to all our citizens on the joyous occasion of 'Navroz'...May Navroz bring peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted people on the occasion. "Greetings on Navroz. May the festival bring joy, happiness and prosperity to all," he said.
