Prices of commodities soften

Prices of several commodities eased while maida and sooji prices remained steady in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week ended today.

But sugar price moved up during this week on Wednesday by Rs 50 per quintal at Rs 3,150 from its closing rate of Rs 3,100 and finished the week at Rs 3,150.

Thoor dal opened the week at Rs 16,000 per quintal from its closing rate of Rs 16,200 and its prices again decreased on Wednesday by Rs 500 to finish the week at Rs 15,500.

Opening the week at Rs 15,500, urad dal was less by Rs 400 per quintal from its previous rate of Rs 15,900. Its price fell again on Wednesday by Rs 100 per quintal to close the week at Rs 15,400.
 

Moong dal opened at Rs 10,500, higher by Rs 300 per quintal, but its price fell on Wednesday by Rs 500 and ended the week at Rs 10,000.

Gram dal was less by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,400 from Rs 6,500 and its prices again moved down by Rs 100 on Wednesday to close at Rs 6,300.

Opening at Rs 3,000, wheat logged its closing rate of Rs 3,000. The price was steady till Wednesday when it fell by Rs 100 per quintal and ended the week at Rs 2,900.

Maida (90 kgs) (Rs 2,500) and sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,200) prices ruled steady throughout the week.
