Prices of most commodities rise at wholesale market

Prices of thoor dal, urad dal, moong dal, gram dal, sugar, wheat and maida moved up, while those of sooji remained at the same rate in the wholesale foodgrain markets during the week ending today.

Thoor dal opened the week at Rs 9,400, an increase of Rs 400 per quintal from its last week's closing rate of Rs 9,000 and jumped to Rs 400 on Thursday to Rs 9,800 and maintained the same rate today.

Urad dal opened at Rs 8,800, up by Rs 400 per quintal from its closing rate of Rs 8,400, touched Rs 9,000 on Thursday and stood at the same rate today.
 

Moong dal increased by Rs 200 per quintal on Friday from its opening rate of Rs 9,800 and traded the same rate till Thursday and increased by Rs 200 on Friday to touch Rs 10,000.

Likewise, gram dal rose to Rs 4,900 from its previous rate of Rs 4,800 and moved up to Rs 5,000 from Thursday.

Sugar went up to Rs 2,780 on Friday from its previous rate of Rs 2,700 and was trading at the same rate till today.

Wheat opened at Rs 2,700, Rs 100 less from its closing rate of Rs 2,800 and closed the week at Rs 3,000, a gain of Rs 200 per quintal from Friday onwards.

The price of maida (90 kg) went up to Rs 2,500 on Friday from its previous rate of Rs 2,400 and ended at the same rate.

Sooji (90 kg)(Rs 3,000) ruled steady throughout the week.
