Prices of select commodities fall

Prices of urad dal, gram dal and sugar fell while those of thoor dal gained at the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Rest of the commodities traded steady.

Urad dal went down by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 7,200 from yesterday's rate of Rs 7,600.

In addition, gram dal and sugar declined by Rs 100 and Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,850 and Rs 3,100 from Rs 3,950 and Rs 3,150, respectively.

In contrast, thoor dal rose by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 8,100 from yesterday's rate of Rs 7,900.

However, moong dal, wheat, maida and sooji ruled steady.
 

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (in Rs per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 8,100, Urad Dal Rs 7,200 Moong Dal Rs 9,800, Gram Dal Rs 3,850, Sugar Rs 3,100, Wheat Rs 2,700, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,500 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 2,800.
