Prices remains steady in Delhi, Khurpa up in Muzaffarnagar

Gur prices settled flat in the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market today as prices contiued to be asked at previous levels in the absence of any worthwhile factor.

However, gur khurpa prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar gur market.

Marketmen said the rise in gur khurpa prices at Muzaffarnagar was mostly due to thin supplies against increased demand.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur khurpa prices asked higher at Rs 2,900-2,950 instead of Rs 2,850-2,900 per quintal.

Elsewhere, other gur varities ruled quiet on small buying support.

Following are today's rates per quintal:

Gur chakku 3,200-3,300, pedi 3,300-3,350, dhayya 3,500-3,600 and shakkar 3,500-3,600.
 

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,600-2,650, chakku 2,750-3,100, khurpa 2,900-2,950 and Ladoo 2,950-3,050.

Muradnagar: Pedi 2,950-3,000 and dhayya 3,050-3,100.
