The wholesale market depicted a mixed trend today as select pulses led by urad rose further on rising demand from retailers while a few others met with resistance at prevailing and surrendered moderate ground.
Traders said rising demand from retailers in the face of paucity of stocks on restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly kept select prices higher.
Weakening rupee against dollar, making imports costlier also supported the upside in select prices, they said.

They added, however, some resistance at existing levels helped other prices to shed ground.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local prices rose by Rs 200 each to Rs 8,600-9,200 and Rs 9,600-9,800 per quintal respectively. Its dal best qaulity and dhoya were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 9,700-10,300 and Rs 10,100-10,400 per quintal respectively.
Rajmah chitra prices moved up by Rs 200 to Rs 4,900-6,500, while kabuli gram small variety edged up by Rs 100 to Rs 4,600-7,000 per quintal respectively.
Arhar and its dal dara variety on the back of strong demand, advanced to Rs 9,500-9,700 and Rs 10,900-11,000 from previous levels of Rs 9,400-9,600 and Rs 10,800-10,950 per quintal respectively.
On the other hand, moong and its dal chilka local eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,500-7,200 and Rs 7,300-7,800 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 7,300-7,600 and Rs 8,100-8,200 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold shed Rs 50 each at Rs 6,750-7,350 each per quintal. Its dal local and best quality were also down by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,900-8,000 and Rs 8,000-8,100 per quintal.
Gram softened by Rs 100 to Rs 4,700-5,400 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality lost Rs 150 each at Rs 5,000-5,200 and Rs 5,100-5,400 per quintal respectively.
