Priest held with over 11 kg of charas in Himachal's Kullu

A priest was arrested after over 11 kg of charas was recovered from him in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district on Tuesday, police said.

A resident of Viyogi village in Banjar tehsil, Bewa Ram was arrested with 11.876 kg of charas in the early hours on Tuesday,Kullu SP Gaurav Singh said.

The SP said the accused was a pujari (priest) of a local deity.

A team of the Banjar police station raided his premises and recovered the contraband.

The charas was grown locally, the SP said, adding that further investigation was on.
