The Delhi government today inaugurated 100 special libraries designed for the primary sections of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas in the national capital.
Earlier, these schools had one common library for children of all classes.
"Libraries have a huge role in developing young minds. We are keen to inculcate a library culture among children, which will go a long way in ensuring that children broaden their horizons beyond their syllabus," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said at the inauguration of one such library in a school in South Delhi's Moti Bagh.
"We have a target to open 450 such libraries within one year in all government schools where primary sections exist," he added.
