Prime accused in double murder case arrested

Police today arrested the prime accused in a double murder case who was carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head.

According to Loni Border SHO Ranveer Singh, acting on a tip-off, a police team arrested Sanjay Gurjar near Shanti Gate.

The accused allegedly gunned down Sameer Sharma on May 11 at Jawahar Nagar Gulab Vatika and Praveen Mittal alias Chinoo near Indira Puri on May 26, he said.

The accused had also fired several rounds outside a shopping mall in Kaushambi on May 13 to spread terror in the area, the SHO said, adding that the entire episode was captured by a CCTV camera.
 

A .32 bore pistol, a 9 mm pistol, a car and 250 grams of doda powder have been seized from the accused, he said, adding that an accomplice of the accused, Subhash Jatav, is still at large.
