Prince Charles today called on President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan here and discussed various aspects of bilateral relations.
The President said India and United Kingdom's bilateral relations are in an excellent state and both the countries share a deep commitment to the principles of liberty, democracy, freedom of expression and the rule of law.
Mukherjee said based on countries' shared history, democratic values and institutions, the relationship is bound to reach qualitatively new levels, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said.

The President expressed appreciation for the Prince's involvement with charity work in India for many years and remembered his previous visits to India with warmth.
He also said British Prime Minister David Cameron's visit in February 2013 accompanied by a large business delegation was marked by number of good initiatives.
The Prince of Wales warmly reciprocated the sentiments expressed by the President and said he has been visiting India over 40 years now.
