The 'Purple Rain' hitmaker's surprise appearance at 2 AM at Bennetts Lane left guests jubilant and they relished the two-hour-long performance, reported Herald Sun.
"This just in... Prince on stage at Bennetts lane jazz club Melbourne tonite! secret show just starting," tweeted Prince's DJ Rashida.
The show featured an array of Prince album tracks including 'Tambourine', 'Around the World in a Day', 'Something in the Wate'r, '1999', 'Strange Relationship', 'If I Was Your Girlfriend', 'Sign O'the Times' and the rare 'Honest Man', which was the introductory music on his film "Under the Cherry Moon".
The 53-year-old icon thrilled the audience with renditions of his hits including 'Sexy Dancer', as well as a cover of Rihanna's 'Rude Boy' sung by his backing singers.
