Principal of a private dental college was today arrested and sent to jail for allegedly harassing girl students here.
The incident came to light yesterday when students created a ruckus inside the campus and also thrashed the principal, police said.
A complaint in this connection was lodged by the girl students, living at the hostel, against the accused principal, said Station Incharge of Pratap pur police station, Surendra Nath.
In their complaint, they alleged that the principal was harassing them mentally and physically for past few months, he said.
The complaint further says, principal used to call them in his office during college hours and forced them to engage in vulgar conversations. He also used to make telephone calls to them at night, Nath said.
The accused was booked under the relevant sections of the IPC, Nath said, adding, the matter is under investigation.
