Priority on basic facilities to remote islands: Lt Governor

"Our first priority is to ensure that basic amenities such as drinking water, healthcare services, educational and transport services reach to the people living in the remote areas of of Andaman and Nicobar Islands," Singh said.

He inaugurated a series of public welfare and infrastructure development projects during a day-long tour to north and middle Andaman.

Singh launched three bridges which would provide connectivity to remote and dispersed settlements, a key eco-tourism project - 'Dhaninallah Mangrove Walkway' - a general pool accommodation complex for government servants at Nimbudera and a new OPD Complex at Dr RP Hospital in Mayabunder.
