Prithviraj to direct Mohanlal in debut venture 'Lucifer'

Malayalam actor Prithviraj, will be making his directorial debut with "Lucifer" starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead role.

Announcing the film Prithviraj said in a facebook post "'LUCIFER' starring The Lalettan (Mohanlal), written by Murali Gopy, produced by Aashirvad Cinemas will be my directorial debut... COMING SOON!"

Prithviraj, son of noted Malayalam actor, late Sukumaran, made his acting debut in 2002 in "Nandanam", and has over 80 films to his credit, including "Celluloid" and "Ennu Ninte Moideen".

Murali Gopy, who forayed into Malayalam cinema as an actor in 2004 in Lal Jose film "Rasikan" and has written and acted in acclaimed films "Ee Adutha Kaalathu" and "Left Right Left," is the son of late national award winning actor Gopi.
 

Mohanlal also stated in a post "Here I have a big news for my million splendid audience about my upcoming project.

"A big budget movie from Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas will see the collaboration of two icons of Malayalam film industry behind the camera for the first time," he said.

Announcing the project, Murali Gopy said "Lucifer" will be his next film after "Tiyaan" and "Kammarasambhavam".

"Its always been a dream to write for Lalettan and its double joy that Prithviraj Sukumaran was keen to direct it," he stated.

Mohanlal's "Oppam" (Together) directed by Priyadarshan and Prithviraj's "Oozham" a revene drama by Jeethu Joseph are the two films which are vying for viewers attention in theatres in Kerala during ongoing Onam festival season.
