Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) women activists raided a private agency called Pranav Enterprises at Dyaneshwar Nagar in the Wagle Estate locality, for allegedly issuing Aadhar cards charging a premium and without verification.

According to an MNS spokesperson a female employee in the agency's office named as Vandana Dudhwe was allegedly issuing Aadhar cards without any proof whatsoever.

MNS activists sent a decoy to the agency and caught the woman red handed issuing Aadhar cards at a premium, the MNS spokesperson said.

According to the MNS spokesman, the woman charged Rs 300 for the Aadhar card if proof was produced by the applicant, while if the applicant failed to produce proof, then Rs 750 was charged.

A Wagle Estate police station official told PTI that the woman has been booked under Section 420, Section 465, Section 468 and Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

However, no arrest has been made so far, he said.
