Private bank official found shot dead in car

An official at a private bank here was today found dead in his car near his residence in Sector-5 area here, police said.

A police patrol team had found a car parked in the area. On suspicion, they knocked its door but found no response, DCP (West) Surender Pal said.

Following this, they opened the door and found a man, identified as 35-year-old Devavrat, dead on the vehicle's driver seat with bullet wound on his head, Pal said. His cellphone was switched off.

Devavrat was shot at from close range, but no weapon was recovered from the spot, he said.
 

A native of Patna, Devavrat was working as a collection officer at HDFC Bank branch in Delhi's ITO area.

A case of murder has been registered and efforts are being made to arrest the assailants.
