A private college student was arrested for allegedly raping a girl of the same institute here, police said today.
Abhishek, resident of Lucknow, has raped the victim and threatened to kill her if she informed anyone about the incident, CO Civil Lines Alka Singh said.
He was booked under various sections of the IPC.
Later, Abhishek was produced in the court of CJM Sevananad Singh who sent him to 14-day judicial custody, police said.
Accused was an MCA student and the victim was doing MSc from the private college.
It was the same institute where management student Neeraj Bhadana died in suspicious circumstances last month and later the UP government recommended a CBI probe into it.
